I became involved as a volunteer for my community and youth athletics in 1997. It was an opportunity for me to be part of the development, excitement and success of my children in the things they loved to do. It evolved into "my children" meaning every child I have coached, mentored or officiated across Long Island over the years.
I have been a 25 year member of The Suffolk County PAL and have been involved in their activities from every level, as a parent, coach, sports official and Executive Board Member. Giving back to our future is my life's calling. In my home district of Patchogue-Medford I am dedicated to supporting the Academic, Arts, Music, Sports and countless other programs so every child has the opportunity for enjoyment and success, this is my passion. Volunteering and continuing to be a part of community service whenever I can is what I live for.
My roles include but are not limited to.... Vice President of The Patchogue-Medford Board of Education, Chairman of Patchogue-Medford Raider Youth Football Lacrosse and Cheer, Vice President, Rules Interpreter and Lead Official for SC PAL Football, President of The Suffolk County Football Officials Association, Health and Safety Coordinator for Long Island PAL Lacrosse, Sports Chair and Assistant to the President of the Patchogue-Medford Hall of Fame and Board Trustee of The Suffolk Chapter of the National Football Foundation. I have been Awarded The 2022 National PAL Volunteer of Year.
Throughout the years and various seasons rated highest official at all 3 levels for Section XI in various sports and my crew has officiated LIC games several times. I will always strive to be the best I can be and to have the greatest positive impact on not only my community but every community I embrace. In the immortal words of Winston Churchill, " You make a living by what you GET, you make a life by what you GIVE", these are words I live by.
